Why we decided to give every Nigerian fashion brand a free website
Labeld Studio now provides a free website plan for Nigerian fashion brands, including a real storefront and Paystack checkout. This removes the upfront financial barrier, allowing brands to build and prove their business before committing to a subscription.

There's a version of this post where I explain all the features, list the plan tiers, and tell you why this is a big deal for Nigerian fashion. I'm not going to write that version.
Instead, let me tell you what actually happened.
We kept watching the same thing play out. A brand would approach us, get excited about what Studio could do, then go quiet. Not because the product wasn't what they wanted. Because the subscription felt like a bet they weren't ready to make yet.
They hadn't made enough sales to justify it. Or they weren't sure if their store would actually convert. Or they just wanted to try something before committing.
That's a completely reasonable position. And we were making them choose before they had enough information to choose well.
So we changed it.
The free plan now includes a full Labeld storefront.

Not a demo. Not a preview. A real website, on a real URL, with real Paystack checkout — live to anyone who finds it.
You can list up to 12 products. Customers can browse, add to cart, and pay. Orders come into your Studio dashboard. You fulfill them. That's a working business, and you can have it today without paying anything upfront.
We keep a 5% fee on sales per product made through the free storefront. That's how we make this sustainable without charging you before you've made a single naira.
If and when the math tips — and it will tip, because 5% on real sales adds up faster than a flat subscription feels — upgrading to Pro at ₦5,000/month drops that fee to zero and unlocks everything else: unlimited products, campaigns, analytics, custom domain, the works.
But that's a decision for later. Right now, just get started.
Why this matters in Nigeria specifically
The problem with most ecommerce platforms isn't that they're bad. It's that they were built for markets where a $29/month subscription is a rounding error on a business credit card.
That's not the reality for most independent fashion brands in Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt. You're bootstrapping. You're doing drops out of your apartment, taking orders on Instagram, chasing people down on WhatsApp to confirm payment. You're building something real with whatever you have.
A platform that asks you to pay before you've proven the thing works isn't helping you. It's gatekeeping.
We built Labeld Studio because we think Nigerian fashion brands deserve the same tools as the international brands they're competing with online. That has to start with letting people actually get in the door.
What you get

A storefront at your own Labeld URL
Up to 12 products listed
Real checkout via Paystack
Order management in Studio
Marketplace visibility when you're ready for it
No credit card required to start. No time limit. Build something, see if it works, then decide what comes next.
One honest thing
This isn't charity. A 5% fee on your sales means we grow when you grow. If you're making money, we're making money. If you're not, we haven't taken anything from you.
We think that's the right way to build this relationship — especially at the beginning, when you're still figuring out if Labeld is the right home for your brand.
We think it is. But we'd rather let you find that out for yourself.
